silencing the critic

If your harshest critic could spend 10 minutes in your world, he wouldn’t see all your faults, he would see his own, which is of course the reason for all his noise. Anger is a comfort to him, a barrier.

The trick isn’t in proving the critic wrong. He will take up whichever mask best suits his short-sighted goals. The trick is knowing your real motives. If you are pleased when another person is helped by your work or your words, then you have found sanctuary.
